Good morning! We recently purchased a new home on a couple of acres. The wife wants 2 pet horses. As I looked at the property, and the long list of projects needed to turn this empty lot into a micro-sized horse ranch, I decided that a tractor was going to be needed.
We've rented a variety of equipment including minix, mini loader, skidsteers and crawler post hole digger. I always put my wife on the machine while I do the heavy ground work. She loves to run the equipment.
I started searching the interwebs for info on subcompact tractors and started seeing more and more people that liked the LS tractors. I visited my local New Holland, Kubota, Deere, and Massey Ferguson dealers, and finally ended up at a hobby tractor dealer that specialized in LS, Mahindra and Branson makes. The 'big guys' made some nice equipment, but in my effort to stretch my dollar I compared the last three and really liked the LS M1 25 TLB. I bought it off of the lot yesterday, and can't wait to get to work sinking posts, trenching for power and irrigation and just all around getting things done.
Yep, I bought my wife a back-hoe for Christmas! She loves it. She will use it to muck stalls, carry grain, and drag the arena.
Thanks to the many of you that take time to post about your experiences with different makes, attachments, services and techniques. Your experience goes a long ways towards getting us new guys going.
I'll be posting in the LS forum mostly, and I'm a photographer and drone owner. I'll try and post pics of our projects to possibly help others.
