Yanmar 147D
Hey all, I have been interested in Yanmar's for quite awhile now and will be picking mine up next weekend. 1987 147D, 1800 hours, I will be the second owner, it has been pampered it's whole life plowing a paved driveway and mowing approx. 1.5 acres. Only known problems, brake peddle does not return (all the way) after being pressed, and the starter sometimes does not engage. I paid $2650, and for my area I believe is a good deal. I will put up pictures when it come's home, in the meantime, I would love to find an owners manual and or a service manual. Also any other info or things to watch out for on this particular model. I don't believe there's alot of these out there going by the information I've found so far. Thanks in advance Shane

Try Murry publishing for the manual.Hoye Tractor they would be the most likely to have it.Sounds like dirty or rusty brakes pads or weak springs.Yanmar tracktors are simple and well built I'm sure you will enjoy it.

My Yanmar did that when I bought it. I had to take off the cover where the brake shaft goes into the transmission and clean the shaft. It was simple, under an hour.

Picked up the tractor and a 5' woods back blade Saturday, I have given them both a good work out. I am extremely impressed especially since I dont have chains for it yet. Chains and a shorter top link will be my first purchases. It sat out side last night and this morning, and still started easily today at around 15-20 degrees, believe it or not. It is now in our garage, I had to remove the rops to get it in. I also will put in a good word for that woods back blade, very well made compared to other 5' that I have seen.

The OEM manuals are still available for the YM147D,

Good lookin' new tractor!
Did it have a loader or back hoe on it at one point? It looks like some partial subframe underneath.
I think you got a good deal.

How wide is it at the rear tires? I've been window shopping for something similar, but I need to know if it'll fit through my gate. I think a YM135 is 35" wide. Not sure on the 147 or 155. I think 165s are 48" wide.

Thanks.

I did get the owners manual from the previous owner, he had promised the original to a friend and so he got a copy of it from a copier store. He did this for me after he had said one didnt come with the tractor (very nice of him I think). He also held this for me for two weeks till I had the money

The previous owner added that because he was worried about the stress his finish mower was putting on it due to some steep banks.

48", however I'm sure you could find narrower rims for it.
