New owner of a 2740

Just though I'd say "hi" from the great white north ... purchased a 2740 a couple of weeks back to do odd jobs around the farm (it was sitting at a dealers lot not from from me in Ontario and looked kind of lonely)- only have 8 hours on it so it is early to say - but kind of like the little critter (my only comment is that I wished the rops folded).

Anybody have some thoughts on this model?

I have a 5740, so I can't comment on the specifics of your 2740. Do you have a loader on it, or any attachments?

I also have a 2740, purchased 6 weeks ago. 27 hours on the meter so far. If the rain would stop here, it would have more on it quickly. I have never owned a tractor less than 38 HP, but I have lots of smalll stuff to do around my 40 acres, so I kept the old 40 horse IH to use the backhoe on, and the new 2740 for everything else. Its really an amazing little machine, power and manueverability wise. It actually runs my 5' rotary mower better than my IH. Starts easily and looks very stout and easy to maintain and repair. Now, if someone would only make an aftermarket foldable ROPS for it and produce a decent service/repair manual, I'd be elated. ...Dan

Great tractor. It has been our #1 seller over the years and they are excellent. It is a work horse and our customers love them. Congrats on the new addition.

Thanks fellas - funny but I also found that my 5ft bushhog runs better on the 2740 than on my Int624 ... spent the weekend "hogging" and half of a tank of fuel later I'm finished. It was quite hot up here on the weekend!

So far so good!

I have the same tractor in FarmTrac Blue and I am happy with it. I have 280 hrs in two years of mostly finish mowing, tilling and dragging all manner of things out of the woods. Great little tractor!
