Kioti CK20 HST
I'm the proud new owner of a CK20 HST (only have 2.5 acres) and just love it.

I have a question though - anyone make a mod so their "best friend" can ride with them?

Every time I go to my Kioti, my dog wants to be with me - she's small - shitzu-bijon cross - I was thinking of somehow attaching a child car seat or just a pet carrier of some sort....

My dog is the same way, he's a poodle, snozer mix. He thinks its great to ride the tractor and for the most part he is very content to sit on the floorboard between my feet. . . .John

Welcome and congratulations on the new tractor. I'd think the ROPS would make a good starting point. A couple of U brackets could be used to fasten some type of platform, the car seat or a carrier that would let him sit beside you. Lots of guys have added tool boxes that way. I'd be careful, a good bump and the rear tire is right there.

Welcome! How 'bout using the dog as a hood ornament? You could bolt a big dog bed/basket on the hood right near the instrument cluster and that way feed it biscuits for spotting wild game, etc.

Sounds Scary if you hit a bump or the dog jumps off you could have a bad accident. I know its tempting but I'd be scared to try it. :(

Its a joke- its meant to be funny, not acted upon as a means to contain one's dog.

However, it got me thinking to what about a small 'crate' used for sleeping/travel purposes? This would contain the dog, give it shelter from the sun, and keep it from flying off the tractor if one were to hit a big bump?
It could be wing nutted to the hood and removed as needed for servicing the tractor or the dog.

Bravo, you will love it!

I just got my CK20HST couple months ago! My dealer offered me a little back carrier; it's attached to the frame; it's quite sturdy. If you want you can contact him, it's a standard fit for CK20HST.

So I gotta ask: How do you refuel with that in place? (For those who don't have one, that's the gas cap in the third picture).:confused2:

I had a little yorkie that rode with me all of the time. She would hear the tractor start up and come a running. She would either sit on my lap or on the fender next to me. I covered it with carpet to give her some traction. She rode on the floor board too. It all depended on her mood i think. One day we were mowing in the upper tract of my property. It was a sunny day and all the critters were out. Especially the ones dodging my mower blades. That's when it happened. A jack rabbit ran directly next to us and Bonnie jumped off the floorboard after it. She snapped her leg when she hit the ground and went under the rear tire before I could stop. Killed that dog right there. Worst part was I had the pick her broken body up and take her back to the wife. Wasn't one of my best days. The wife was heartbroken and I got scolded as only she can. I got another dog for her but it doesn't ride on the tractor.

Refueling?! I bought it for gentleman farming purpose only. I thought one tank would cut it!
The rack has been in use at Payeur Distribution for a number of years already. It main purpose in life was to be the chainsaw, oil, mix fuel holder when you go logging. It is quite sturdy, and it will take you about 20 seconds to remove, top! There are two quick detach latches on each side, and the bottom is sitting on top of the bracket originally used for the warning triangle. There is enough place for a 20 inches 440 Stihl, fluid, ginger ale, two chains and a Chihuahua.

I think it will be a great solution for our friend, otherwise they will have to agree sharing time for steering!
