Hi all,
Sorry to jump into this thread but I'm new to the site and have a related question. I've got a late 90's LK3054 and "accidently" poured engine oil into the refill area between your feet. I believe this is actually the transmission fluid refill but from comments above I could be wrong? I have 2 questions, firstly should I just flush the system with a transmission flushing agent, from AMSOIL etc, and then refill with transmission fluid? Secondly, if so how much transmission fluid needs to go back in? I bought it 4th hand and other than operating training I've got nothing else ref user manual. The tractor was only run for a short period of time under low load so hopefully I've not done too much damage.
Apologies again for hijacking and making such a noobie mistake with the engine / transmission oil! :-(
Thanks in advance,
I could be wrong but I would think just draining your fluid and changing the filter should suffice.
I have quite a quandary myself. Looking through the owner's manual for my 1998 LK3054 (pg 36) I noticed it says the transmission fluid is to be an SAE 80 classification and that is nothing close to the fluid I have bought. SAE 80 is gear oil as far as I know. Then I noticed the owners manual also states it should be a multi grade fluid such as DONAX-TD, DONAX-TM MOBILE FLUID 350 or TORQUE FLUID 56 none of these as best I can tell are SAE 80 so who to beleive page 29 or page 36 which says to reference pg 29. It is very confusing to a newbie to the tractor world. Sams club sells a universal tractor oil and I asked the manufacturer if it met the Donax TD or TM standards as well as the others and they said it did. So suffice it to say I am confused and hope I have not messed things up as I run universal hydraulic/transmission fluid which is a 10w/20 according to all I can find regarding it. i do wish Kioti was clear and concise and maybe they are if you understand tractors which I admit I don't.
Maybe one of the wise sage's here will enlighten me and you as well.
