New owner of old TB Horse considering engine swap

I'm excited as I just picked up my horse. Some engine problems. Starts ok, but won't stay running unless you hold the choke or governor open. I've got it into the shop and told them to just get it running dependably for the rest of the gardening season. I plan on doing a restore this winter and put a new engine on. Can't make up my mind between a HF Predator $119.00 or a more expensive B&S 1150 Intek. Anybody want to help me decide here?

I just repowered my horse tiller with an 6.5 hp predator...very easy install. Engine started first pull, has lots of power and easy on gas.
