Owner's manual arrived today (UPC 02883-20502 - found another post that said this was the newer owner's manual). Definitely has some info the service manual doesn't. Page 56 calls out 28 psi for a 6-12 front tire, which jives with what was in the Firestone brochure. 12.4-16 is not one of the two rear tire sizes listed on that page (has 9.5-20 and 36x13.50-15, both with 20 psi), but in the specs on page 60, it calls out 12.4-16 as an optional rear ag size (no pressure given there, just a list of sizes).

Well, she's officially in service now. I think I had gotten some air in the fuel system when I changed the fuel filter the other week, which I got bled out so that it would start. FYI - the NAPA FIL 3389 does not fit the LB1914 - the end cap diameter of the element is too big to fit in the filter pot. Fortunately I had a fuel filter that fit from the stuff I'd ordered online.

Got the glow plugs checked (see http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kioti-owning-operating/352708-resistance-spec-lb1914-glow-plugs.html), which was also a good opportunity to make sure all those connections were clean and tight. The glow plugs are currently set up as manually-operated - the previous owner said something was up with that part of the ignition switch, so he wired them up with a momentary push-button switch. I confirmed that something was up with the ignition switch (it has wires to B, ST, M, and L terminals - the L never connected to anything in any of the key positions). I like the manual control of the glow plugs, but I'll probably replace the ignition switch anyway in case I want to go back to the timer/relay control (and because I noticed the key had just fallen out at one point when I was operating the tractor yesterday). I'm going to upgrade the push-button to a 60-A rated one (the current one appears to be a 20-A rated Dorman, which is probably a tad undersize given that the glow plugs draw a total of ~45 A at first and then settle out to ~24 A) and also put a 60-A maxi fuse in a holder up by the battery for the switch feed.

Changed the oil with a Kioti E5205-32091 filter and some Motorcraft Super Duty 10W-30 oil (API CJ-4). Drain plug is a 19 mm hex, FYI. Listed oil capacity was not exactly consistent:

sticker inside hood top panel said 4.5 qt
owner's manual said 3.6 qt (pg 59)
and the service manual said 3.3 qt (pg 5)

I put in 3.25 qt (it was easy to subdivide the full quart marks on the jug into quarters) and that seemed to be plenty on the dipstick. Need to remember to check it again to see if it needs any topping off after running a little.

Also checked the trans and front axle fluids and those looked good. Anyone have a pic of the trans fluid window? Someone had neglected to to mask over mine when painting so I couldn't see any marks that the manual was referring to (I just scraped the paint off and saw that the level was a little over halfway up the window).

I need to get some turnbuckle-style check chains for this machine too (it currently has actual chains). When I hooked the scoop up (which has a lower pin spacing greater than the standard 26" Cat 1), that extra width combined with the amount of sway was too much for the width of the rear tires. I think it would be okay if I could get the amount of sway down. Are there any good universal turnbuckle check chains available or should I just get the Kioti ones (~$64 ea)?

Did get a little bit of time to mess with rear blade in the driveway before dinner. Looking forward to doing more work with this machine, especially as the weather warms and dries up. :)
