Not long after we moved into our new home (new to us) we noticed washer drain back up after two loads. I talked to the previous owner to see if he could remember how the plumbing was ran.He informed me that he rerouted the kithcen/washer drain line into its own drain feild. He also gave me an idea of where it exited the house.I traced the pipe to where it tied into the drainfield pipe and boke it apart. Turned on the garden hose and in less than a minute the drainfield pipe was full. So I decided to build a small drain pit.
Basically, I built a pit out of cinder blocks and poured the cells. I dug the center thee feet deeper and filled it with gravel. Poured and placed a lid and covered it up. Now if the pit can't handle it the drainfield is there for back up.
1. the pit
2. the lid
3.-6. setting the lid
7. finished
