PT-180
Well after reading this forum for about 1.5 to 2 yrs I've finally drove down to Tazewell and handed them a check. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I purchased a PT180 with:
45" 7 cu ft LM bucket
45" Single Blade Mower
42" Tiller

It should hopefully arrive by Sat and then maybe I'll start to be able to contribute to the fine information pool we have here.

Thanks to everyone for your advice and wisdom over the last few months (even if you didn't realize I was here digesting it /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif )

Thanks Bill and again welcome.
What type of projects do you have lined up?

You drove to Tazwell and then had them ship your order? Maybe shipping to Ohio isn't much, but why didn't you rent a trailer or truck and pick it up when you gave them a check? After paying $1200 shipping on my order I am simply asking why, as I even gave semi-serious consideration as to the implications of driving from California to pick up my PT and attachments. Wife wanted to, pulling our RV along, which meant 8mpg, which (after factoring in a few campsite rentals) meant much more than the shipping costs.

Anyway, welcome to the group!

No big plans right away. Lots & lots of small work to do... yard leveling, gravel drive maintenance, maintaing a drainage ditch, cutting some "stairs" into an embankment I have between the house and the back part of my property...

And I'm sure now that I have a new toy, er um, I mean tool, in my arsenal, many more jobs will appear.

I work a lot of hours and often only get an hour here or two hours there to work on things. With wheel barrows, shovels and other hand tools, by the time I get set up to start a job it's time to start cleaning up and nothing gets finished. With the 180 I think I'll be able to whip through a lot of these projects with only an hour or two to do it! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi Phil! Good question. For me the delivery charge was only about $500. I went down with my wife and 2 yr old and we made a little weekend get away out of the trip (having fun Sat and Sun then visiting Power-Trac on Mon AM). The renting of the trailer along with the added cost of gas and the added inconvenience to our get away just didn't compare to the $500. The wife and I did pondered it for a week before deciding on shipping.
Oh I should mention my Explorer only has a bumper/ball hitch that isn't rated very high either (although it would of been a good excuse to update to a frame mounted receiving hitch!)

Hello Bill I too just ordered a PT-180 with a light bucket and fork lifts. A little work horse for my business. Moving materials around the job site.

Yes I know the warrenty is for only a homeowner and not for commerical use. My leasing company and I have worked around that issue.

Enjoy

Hi Alan. It seems the list of 180 owners on this forum is starting to grow!

Having just toured the factory and showroom down in Tazewell I am very comfortable with the quality of all the machines. I know the 180/422 are marked as homeowner models (I'm sure for warranty sake PowerTrac has to draw a line somewhere) but I believe each machine is built well above it's capacity.

If your commercial use doesn't require more than 600# lift and anymore than the 18HP can push I am sure it will last a very long time. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
