So I just bought a new RTV 1100.
Brought it home from the dealership and drove it straight into the shop to install the ranch radio and the FM radio.
I have had a 900 since july of 06 and put 980 odd hours on it. It's a great machine. I put a cab and heater on it and quite a few other things that I learned thru the months of using it.
The reason I went out and bought an 1100 is last week I went to change the trans oil and got four big pieces of metal out of it. After a lot of research and calling Messicks (thanks guy at Messicks!! Can't remember your name,
) I figured out that it was the pins for the diff lock. So it's out in the far garage right now, waiting to get the power pack pulled when i get time and rebuild the trans. New motors, pumps, new diff pins, etc.
I thought about selling it or trading it in, but I can't do that and be able to sleep at night. So I'm going to tear into it and fix it myself.
First impressions of the 1100, great machine, wonderful cab. The ai tight cab and awesome heater makes me giggle. The high today was 13F, yesterday it barely hit 9F.
Tomorrow I'll be out in the shop wiring up the radio and installing my two-way radio. Looks like i will have to wait it gets warmer to do a Herculiner. I didn't do one in my 900, and I really wish i did. I have a set of seat covers coming from Greene Mtn. already. I have two dogs that go with me just about everywhere, I'm sure that they will love the heater.
I am also considering getting the rear window screen and the high mount air filter, anyone have opinions on those?
Another note, while I am doing the trans rebuild on the 900, should I post about how things are inside the trans with pictures? I am thinking that after i get it back together to either turbo it (SW AG kit) or sell it and buy a set of tracks for the 1100. My biggest complaint about the 900 has been the overheating and the tires. I can't seem to make a set of tires hold up. The best thing I ever did was buy a case of fix-a-flat, slime the **** out of the tires and buy a plugging kit. Can't tell you how many trips to town that stuff has saved me, much less walks home.
Kubota factory: You're build tractors with tracks on them from the factory, now make an RTV with factory tracks and make it run 25 MPH!!! I hate flat tires!!!
