I've been to several of them. The Marion store is great, fully stocked and clean. Huber Heights was dirty and poorly stocked with lots of things in the wrong places and confusing labelling for price. Things can change but I don't plan on going back there. Ditto on the sasparilla.

The one near us is in an old K-mart building. Its HUGE! The popcorn is always good at ours. They just added a gun section about a year ago..... still no .22 shells!

There was a Rural King that opened about a year and half ago that was the first new-construction Rural King that I have seen. One of the contractors that worked on it told me that the joke was they couldn't wait for the K-Mart in town to close, so they had to build new!

I really like Rural King in general, and this store in particular. They routinely have sales where I can get hydraulic fluid for $20 for a 5 gallon pail, $7 to $10 jeans, $40 AR lowers, $1.79 quarts of oil, etc. Last week I picked up a new battery for on of my tractors for $45 - I can't find anything close to that price locally.

The same Rural King has had .22 lr in stock for quite some time, but at the $50-$60/500 round price point.

Good luck and take care.

Now I see they might also be opening a store near Springfield, Ohio. Anyone know anything about this?

We don't have Rural King stores in Central New York, (Syracuse), BUT I have purchased Rural King merchandise via the internet and by phone.

Rural King's Customer Service has always been exceptional. Above and beyond! I highly recommend them.

I like those old fashion General Stores of days gone by. The stuff is stacked hither and tyther with some of the expensive stuff shelved behind welded wire cages. The owner was usually a gruff old bird that knew where everything was and often had some family helpers. One such store on Independence Avenue in KCMO was owned and operated by a blind man. His store didn't need much light anyhow.:D One could even have some friendly chat or catch up on the news. There was another along old K-32 by the Kaw River etc. Mostly all gone now.

We don't have any Rural King around here but some other kind of chain operations that sound similar.

Well, it opened last week and wow, what a store. Some of the ag parts are not in yet but it still is breathtaking. I can safely say that if they don't have it, you don't need it. A store also opened in Springfield, Ohio last week.
