Kubota L6060 / RTV500 / SCAG V Ride II 61"
Sold the Kubota ZD1211 and purchased a 2020 SCAG V-Ride II 61" 37efi. Awesome machine in the few minutes I have had on it. Not 100% sold on standing vs sitting, but I see nearly all the landscapers running stander mowers and my dealer really sold me on them... so figure I would give it a shot. More details to come

Scag is a first rate machine, we have a 36 and 48 Hydro walk behind. Absolutely bullet proof. The Kawi motor is light years better than the Kohler. Your new Scag is the gen2 design, your feet and weight are right over the axle..much better than the original where you were behind the rear axle and it would cause the front to lift when going up hill. I was told that the design patent ran out on the Whight Stander.. as the design is virtually identical.

I had the church get a Scag for mowing the approximately 5 acres of grass at the church property in Whippany, NJ. This was way back in about 1980. Thing was awesome. Could mow everything in 3 hours that normally took about 7 using some old Sears belly mowers. Even used it alone to chop up leaves. They had an engine mounted behind the Sears tractor seat that sucked from the belly mower and discharged to a wagon being pulled behind. The Scag just chopped the leaves all up.

It had a pully arrangement running from the airplane-like steering control to the wheel underneath the driver's seat.

The 3 blade decks in front were accessed via a crank on a cable that raised or lowered them. Could crank them up and remove all 3 in about 5 minutes' time. Take home, sharpen, bring back and put back on in about 5 minutes' time. They were through-bolted.

Thanks everyone! I will do a write up once I get some mowing time on it

Also takes up a LOT less room than the ZD1211 did, which I now need due to a new Wolfe Ridge splitter that will be here in the next few days.

Well I guess if your a young man or woman, standing for 2 to 4 hours maybe OK, but for an older gentleman, I don't think that would be a good idea.

May be a great mower, but would not be for me.

Best luck.

Yes. The old Scag I used at the church was sit down. You sat over the wheel that the steering bar turned. I would not want to stand on a mower skid either. Just cannot stand that long any more.

After owning a lawn mowing business for about 16 years, I sold it to my son in law about 2 years ago. At the end, all 6 of my mowers were Scag V-Rides. In fact, I still have 4 of them, but need to sell 2.

Some of the reasons I had the stand-on mowers were:
1. They take up less space on a trailer and weigh less.
2. They cost about 30% less than a similar ride-on model.
3. I didn't believe this one until I experienced it myself...Most people are less fatigued at the end of the day when using a stand-on vs. a ride-on. This is mainly for commercial users who are getting on and off the machines many times a day every day, and probably does not apply to the average homeowner. Also, with a stand-on, your knees take the shock of any bumps you may hit, and your back takes the shock on a ride-on.

And Scag is a good, solid machine.

CompleteLawnCare, that is great news to hear! Super excited for the first mow of the year.
