Hello all,
Given all this extra time I have on my hands while staying home I have finally searched and found a 12'x24' portable garage to store all my toys in. I contacted the company and purchased it. It has a 3/4" tongue and groove engineered floor in it. I would like to apply a floor coating on the garage as soon as it gets here before putting anything in it.

I will be keeping my JD 318 and its attachments in this garage. I keep my chains on the tractor year round so I am looking for a very durable long lasting coating. Most likely something oil based.

Any recommendations?

Chains on a wood floor? I don't think coatings are going to work out very well. Maybe truck bedliner coating?

agreed, even epoxy will not hold up to that abuse.

A urethane MAY

Heavy duty vinyl or rubber runners would likely serve you better than just a coating...

Put down something easily renewed. Water based latex paint. THEN heavy duty vinyl or rubber runners - like /pine recommends. Chains on a tractor are going to tear the H*LL out of that floor. Probably NOT something oil based either. Too slick with rain & snow.

You can get some rubber horse stall mats at TSC they have 4x6 3/4 or 4x3 1/2.........

Yeah, get rubber horse stall mats. Chains would massacre that floor.

Even place plywood would help.

I finally broke down and put a set of tubes in the old wheels with bar tires I had in the attic of my garage and put them on the 318. I will run these in the summer and maybe switch back to turf tires w/ chains and put rubber mats down in the winter (I have two sets of wheels). That should help prolong the new floor. I still wanna paint it with something but like mentioned before; I know its gonna piss me off the first time I scratch it so maybe I will just let it go...
