Those have got to be the best blower, hands down, of any blower on the market anywhere !! I'd be ascared to know what they cost.

Beautiful toys Karl....
Its really too bad Shoule doesnt make an "Enthusiast" grade version...same design/specs/quality, but just build overall lighter and in smaller sizes...
I'd love a 74" Version.....
What size fan is on that baby? Same as the prototype?

It is the best I could find at least. 72" industrial grade snowblowers are hard to come by.

It's roughly $8,000 depending on where you have it delivered. Imports from Canada are not cheap anymore :(

This heavy blower is said to be particularly efficient at dealing with big chunks of solid ice, very handy in these parts of northern New England.

Yes unfortunately they only manufacture commercial grade equipment. They even have a new 72" model that has twin screws, never seen that on a compact commercial blower before.

24 inches, and fan blade design has been improved over the prototype's to increase throwing distance and reduce "powdering" near the chute discharge. This was really a problem with the prototype.

Well it's been 3 years now, and I'm still using the same implements. While I am very satisfied with the overall performance, there has been some teething problems with the blower during the first winter. Firstly, it would snap the screw's shear bolt almost every time I used it. This was due to the blower slightly tilting forward when in motion, causing the screw to graze the ground. This was impossible to tell from the cab so it took me a long time to figure it out. Eventually I adjusted the center link to pull the blower back further and that problem went away.

Next the impeller shear bolt started snapping as well, and a vibration was felt in the cab. In order to be able to see the impeller in motion I bypassed the seat switch, which allowed me to observe that the impeller was rubbing against a welding seam at the bottom of its housing. Originally I was puzzled and had no idea how this developped, since it wasn't happening when the blower was new. It looked as though the seam had mysteriously grown thicker for no reason. But now I think repeated blows from chunks of rock-hard ice... and actual rocks (and perhaps the accidental ingestion of a discarded stereo receiver), are to blame. Trusty little Bosch power grinder took care of the seam.

Third issue was the weight of the blower, it makes the tractor more difficult to drive on the road. It is so heavy that it snapped both sway bars. I replaced them with a set of pricey heavy-duty ajustable chains from the JD dealer. The chains did not snap... but they tore off both anchors that were factory welded to the lower 3PH arms. I welded them back on and they tore off again. Took the tractor to a welding shop and the guy told me those anchors were substandard for the stress. He welded on much sturdier ones and the problem was solved.

Apart from that, all is perfect :)

And another big storm is heading this way tomorrow :D
