New Steering box for Kawasaki Mule

I just took the stearing box out of the 2510 Mule for replacemnt and had some sticker shock on the $750 to 610 price range. Ouch! I was curious if anyone has found an alternative to the OEM? I'm guessing they are buying from someone else and putting on a hefty markup as there are no ID marks that say made by Kawasaki.

ouch is right. I have the smaller mule and don't look forward to that expense.

whats wrong with the old one ? if it's play or wobble i think you have just swap out the rubber bushings on the steering colume.

The pinion has a broken tooth. My daughter caught the edge of a rock in some tall grass jarring the steering and breaking the pinion. Fortunately no other damage or injuries. The parts diagram shows the pinion is not sold separately and you have to buy the the entire assembly inner tie rods and all.

how much is the parts? i'll make the offer to fix it at a fraction of the price if you want just mp me.and if you can get a few pictures of whats broken so i can see them upclose.

Thanks for the offer but I already broke down and bought a new steering assembly yesterday as I was not having any luck finding the orignal source of the box.
