Finally got a camera to work. Here are some pics of the "new" baler as I was moving it under cover yesterday.

Man, that is cool!

How many PTO HP does it take to run a machine like that?

That is a nice baler. I can imagine you are looking forward to this coming hay season:)

The HS V-10 rake I picked up. You can still see the auction numbers on the tongue. Its sitting in a fence corner so the pics aren't too good.

Minimum is 65 PTO hp. The MF 596 that is hooked to it is 85 pto hp. I expect that is more what is recommended.

I'm ready for summer and to get started.:D Hoping to get the mowers in soon. Have several people interested in buying hay next summer and have been offered a couple of custom jobs on adjoining neighbors places. This could shape up to be a busy summer.;)

Great looking equipment. Looks like we will be able to swap first year haying stories soon. I am still working my cutter deal.

Have you got a pic of the tractor and baler hooked up together?

There is a different view that shows them together better.

I had a 481 open tractor with MFWD and shuttle. It had a 1070 loader on it. I needed to get in a cab to get out of the dust and pollen. So I traded it in on the 596. The DL 260 loader is the replacement for the 1070(all my attachments fit it) and is supposed to be a stronger more compact loader. I really prefered the extra length on the loader arms when loading round bales on a trailer, but it is stout and cycles faster than the old one. The 500 series hydraulics are sure faster than the early 400 series. As of today I've put 122 hrs on it. The only problems have been 2 hydraulic hoses that were appartentely miss crimped. Warranty service on that issue has been great.
