I ordered a TC40DA today & I've read on here that each brand has its own minor problems. To those of you with tc's from a new owner (arrives next week), what quirks do i need to keep an eye out for? I guess of what I've read, the battery leak seems to make me shudder tha most.

I have 200 hours on mine and have had no issues. Took a little while to get used to the hydostatic but so far the tractor is great.

Relax and Enjoy

I had the hydraulic fluid radiator crack at the hose connection. I saw a discussion here of this problem some time ago.

I could be wrong, but I believe they've since changed the radiator design to correct this problem.

Overall, it's been a good tractor.

We did the Optima battery gig at about 50 hours. What a mess battery acid makes. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I should have just put the Optima battery in when the tractor was delivered new.

About the most notorious issue the widespread Boomer seat problem. When mine was delivered, my rear end stuck to the seat several times, and before I knew it, I had 100 hours on it!

Congratulations. I don't think you'll regret it for 1 minute.

Getting the 16LA loader?

Thanks fo the replies, has the battery issue been fixed by New Holland?

Yep, getting
16la w/ hd qa bucket
758C back hoe w/ 18" bucket
6' bush hog
Bush hog 72" med duty box blade
2 ton dump wagon
canopy
3 remotes
block heater
arm rests

I was looking at the ccm top & tilt but my better half put the brakes on that for now...I've spent plenty allready!!
I hadn't heard of a seat problem, but I think the Mrs must of. She's asked if she'll ever see me after I get it. I got to come back for fuel sometime!!
Now if I could only sleep at night.

Well according to my dealer the problem was rectified even before I took delivery of our 40D. He told me that before I had to replace the battery. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Maybe someone that has a DA model can jump in here with a bit more info on the battery issue.

My TC40DA has 60hrs and no sign of any battery issues. The battery fluid is filled to the top which is overfilled in my view. However, no leakage occured. There is a overflow tube that may be the fix to the problem. I mowed on 30 degree slow up and down all the times.

I don't think Optima 34 battery would fit in TC40DA. The length of the battery is 9" while Group 34 would be 10". A group 34 battery would sit on top of the mounting bolts. I think group 35 would be a better fit.

I would be interested in hearing how the TC40 handles the 6' Bush Hog once you get using it. Maybe someone who sees this already is using this combo.

That is about the same comment that I made at 50 hours, no obvious damage. I was then informed that the battery needed to be pulled out for a closer look-see. I followed those instructions and found one heck of a mess, you may want to do the same.
