As summer heats up down under I thought it was time to get a working temp gauge on my MF 253 and selected what was described as the equivalent part from an online seller.
After finally extracting the original gauge (took way longer than expected) I'm not sure how the new one should be wired up and what symbols such as B and T refer to as well as the purpose of unlabelled large black cylinder on the new gauge. I had somehow expected the new gauge would have the same terminals as the old;(
Below are the images of the new and old and the wiring for the original in situ. I've added text to the image to show the symbols as they appear on the gauges and squiggly green black and white lines to show what was wired where but this can be also seen in the 2nd image.
Im sure this is very basic stuff but my level of autoelecs is - basic ATM but trying to improve. So any suggestions as to what should go where?
Thanks for any feedback
