I purchased a Baltimatic 7 foot rototiller ($2300) and a spreader ($550). Build quality is excellent. The rototiller and I have about 6 hours of tilling and it is like a tank. I have many rocks and it throws them out the back like a pitching machine. The tines are spring steel and have maintained an incredible edge. The paint is a perfect match to Kubota orange...

Anybody know how to get rid of these rocks? I will be hand picking tomorrow...

I also picked up a 12' drag harrow ($699) and used it to "dethatch" the field/yard and it picked up a ton of leaves that were embedded in the grass. I used the 7040 at first and wondered if my RTV could pull it - it did!

You need a little more dirt to mix in with all those rocks! You'll be in fine shape when you get that field cleared.

LOL looks like a couple of my fields, you can rent a bob-cat with a bucket called the rock hound on it at many equipment rental shops, thats what I had to do with a plot I have known as the rock garden

The new equipment looks great! A local excavating contractor uses a tiller like that on the back of a 140 hp Deere 4450. It's been tortured along with using too much input hp. Still on the job after several seasons. They must be a good strong piece.

You should consider opening a rock quarry

Your shop is FAR too well organized. I'll send my kids by to destroy it if you want. ;)

I have a six foot KK Rock rake on mine and you can set it to windrow the rocks and then pile them and pick them up wit FEL.P9200067.JPG

My back hurts just looking at the picture of your rocks. Once you collect this lot, how many are just below the surface? I hope you have frinds to help.

I did a test today to see how many were below the surface. There were a few big ones and I got them. Once you get the big ones the smaller ones look really small. I'm probably going to get the ones that booger up the tiller and let the rest be part of the plot/garden... FYI... I have a bunch of friends...but I can't afford the beer to get all these picked up!!!

Darn and I thought we were the only people that had more rocks that soil. I guess that is why we have all those darn stone walls up here in New England.

It looks like most of those rocks are big enough not to fit through a landscape rake with every other tine removed, and that sure would save a lot of work!
