I just got my new tiller. It is a 6' Agric. The manual was not with and they are going to send me one but I want to use it in the meantime. I got it all connected and tilled up a small patch of land today and it did fine but I was not really sure how to adjust the back gate with the chain. I played with it a little bit but I did not really see what it was doing. It also is adjustable for the depth but I was not sure where to set it. As long is it is running fine the deeper the better?

If you set it up out of the crate, please check the oil level in the gearbox. It might be ok, but it might have NONE, which would shell out the gearbox pretty quickly.

From memory, I think you set the gate lower if you want it to smooth and higher if you want to leave the ground rough.

I've posted this before, but I set my skid shoes to 2-3" depth in our hard clay. I had it set at max depth, but the tiller hopped and banged and clattered. With the shallower depth, it is SMOOTH and when I do the 2nd pass, it goes twice the depth. A lot easier on the tiller and gets more seat time.

My 2 cents. Enjoy.
