Hi. I'm new to this--my dad passed away in March, and he was actively running our 100-acre hay farm until that time. We've rented out the land to be farmed by neighbors, but there's still a lot of maintenance to be done. My brother, who knows the most about the farm, lives 3 1/2 hours away, so I really need to educate myself. Yesterday, I bush hogged about 3 hours without breaking anything, but I realize after reading this site that there's a lot I need to know about everything. I need to be educated. First, what's a slip clutch on the bush hog? How do you adjust torque? What is the torque? I'm still even trying to figure out how to disconnect and reconnect the bush hog. Help!

The slip clutch is just like what it sounds, it is designed to slip when encountering sudden shock or more pressure than the components on the cutter or tractor are designed to handle.

Adjustments is a bit different from one brand to the other, so get a manual from the manufacturer. Land Pride has them online and you can also get them from Woods.
