Ford 1500
:(

Hi.

Based in Ojai in Southern California. Horse country.

It's a sad note to start with, but we have a small arena that needs grooming and a friend was moving off his property and gave us his '79 Ford 1500 that hadn't been run in a while.

The engine was hydrolocked, so I pulled the head which is cracked into the water jacket.

Now we are searching for a usable head, so we don't end up with a 1500 lb lawn ornament.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We are also looking for a Ford 700 loader once we get the tractor up and running.

thanks

Kelvin.

Welcome to TBN. Many here can help with questions you have about your tractor. You probably will get a better response in the Ford tractor area. While your browsing here you might also let Google do the walking by searching tractor salvage yards (ford) in your area. Many of them guarantee thier parts for X amount of days. Good luck.

Has an automotive machine shop looked at it to determine if it can be welded or pinned? My 1700 had cracks and the head was pinned to seal and prevent spread of the crack. Still works just fine.
