Good day all--

2538 TLB delivered a couple weeks ago. 42 hours on the meter now and all is well. Glad I didn't go any smaller-- big enough to get something done and small enough to still cut grass with the 3pt finish mower.

Added some lumens to the roll bar, ripper finger being made there for the backhoe (some fresh oak stumps finally sent me over the edge) and showing off a 28" dia stump x 10' heading to the burn pile

:welcome: to TBN

Like the hook idea on back of your ripper. If I ever get around to building or buying one I'm going to use that idea.

No but I decided if this thing works for green oak stumps ripping through a few feet of permafrost and granite can't be any tougher... Stumps 1 Me 0

Nice looking ripper tooth. I'm lazy so bought mine from Brotek but your's looks to be much more aggressive.

Stumps are a real bugger. I can get some of them up but not all so my average is a bit better than yours. I'd say about 50/50. I was pretty much convinced that PTO stump grinders are too expensive then I saw one made in Canada that is only a couple of grand, cheap by comparison, so it may be worth looking into. I'm waiting to hear back from another member here who bought one to hear how it worked out for him. WG24 Stump Grinder | Woodland Mills US

Let's see someone use that on a gear or shuttle tractor. :)

It looks like a good 'cheap' alternative. As long as the blade and 'teeth' are available, seems like a good product.

Well I'm sure thinking about it and I have a gear tractor. Probably 1st gear only but any stump grinder is probably better than no stump grinder. I think it mostly depends on how big of a bite you take so adding a camera back there would probably be the thing to do.

The blade and teeth look to be avaliable. In fact I think they do like everyone else and use common carbide machine shop tooling for their cutters.

It seems like a good deal to me too, a homeowner, but I'm waiting to hear from an actual user before plunking down my money. Probably not good for someone making a living grinding stumps like the guy I had up here the other day with his $65K purpose built Rayco 4WD walk behind stump grinding machine.

that will be mighty tough on your clutch.

I don't intend to slip the clutch but to let it out fully. Time will tell, if I get one. Looks like an HST machine in the video. One of those orange machines.
Maybe I should ask them.

OK I called and asked them about the shuttle and he said no problem. Only thing he was concerned with was how the PTO engaged. All at once or slow. Since I've never used my PTO I don't really know but it's an independant PTO with a lever and switch on my gear machine as opposed to the live PTO on the HST machines. It's just a shear pin concern or a grade 5 bolt really. From what I can read, I think I'm better off with the independent PTO.

He did say I should look at their smaller 6" X 8" chipper as my 30 PTO HP is at the bottom end for their larger 8" X 8" chipper. There he actually seemed more concerned with how much weight the 3pt could pick up rather than the PTO HP but I know this Mahindra with over a ton is in the top end of it's class in that respect.
