I've been lurking around the site for a while now and after almost 5 months of searching and looking at various machines and going to a number of auctions, I picked up a 2000 NH 4x4 with 400hrs, 7308 FEL with HD bucket, canopy, turf tires, chains and rear hydro outputs. It spent most of it's life mowing, and the FEL was only added three years ago:)

it's replacing the '52 Fergie that came with our property:cool:

so far the only issue I've noticed is that the loader is very weak. It can't even lift the front end of the tractor. The "chatter" kicks in pretty much as soon as it's placed on the ground:rolleyes: If it persists after a fluid/filter change I'll have to adjust the spring on the relief valve. Has anyone done this to the 7308 and can offer some feedback? Are there any online tech. sources (apart from TBN of coures:D ) for info on this particual loader/tractor?

That unit looks as clean as my 99. Congratulations on the purchase. You will really like the 1720.

Your pressure relief is set too low. All you need to do is increase it. Go to the search function and type in 7308. Lots of guys have increased the pressure to increase lift on the 7308. It's a fine loader. I'm jealous.

FRWINKS,
Nice tractor! I had a 1720 for 11 years. I loved that tractor. I had that thing everywhere doin' all sorts of jobs. I never had the fel on it, but never really had the need. Congrats on your purchase! I can tell ya from experiance, It is one tough tractor.

thanks!! I can't wait to put it to work (fix the driveway, then got to replant about 30 trees, fix the rockfence, clay the pond, dig some holes:D hehehe, I could go on for days... LOL)
A friend of mine has an older 1720 with over 3000hrs (the clock stopped at 2700 about three years ago:D ) it's beat up pretty good, but keeps on ticking the day he brought it home...
I'm off to change all the fluids and go take a look at a backhoe attachment......

Very nice machine! I have a 1995 with 800 hours on it that I purchased last September in excellent shape too. It must have been kept in a garage most of its life. I am very happy with my 1720...it was a lifesaver this last winter, lots snowplowing duty (100+hours of seat time). Then it was repairing a severely rutted drive after the snow melted and made mud. I have a brush hog and rear blade and I am now on the hunt for more goodies to hook to it. Enjoy and welcome...I have learned alot from the fine bunch of members on this site.
