I really trust your advice and have relied on it for some time now. Just purchased a B7500 w/ a 60" MMM and 700 hrs. The tractor seems to be in good shape and I'm prepping it for service this spring. After a full fluids change and service I think it'll be ready to go.
My question is this:
The rear wheels seem to reside in the middle (2nd) hole out from the rear case. Is there any reason I shouldn't widen them all the way out to the third position? It does look as though this would run the hub beyond the axle shaft but the holes would still line up.
Please offer your suggestions even if they're off topic.
Welcome to TBN. I bought a B7500 new back in 2003 and after the first year I decided to move my rear tires out to the middle position. I did so to gain extra stability when cutting grass on a portion of my property that has a bit of a slope to it. I also have the 60 inch MMM. However, after after a couple of years I realized that cutting around curved landscape areas was a problem with not getting the edge of the mower close enough, so I moved the tires back to the original location. I bought my Kubota with a FEL which came with a 4 foot bucket. I don't know if this is the reason the tires were set to the innermost position because it is the only one whereby the outside width of the tires are less than 4 feet. Normally this would not be an issue but I did have to dig a shallow 4 foot wide trench for a paver walkway and this would have been a problem if the tires were set outside that dimension. Some folks would probably say that having the tires set to their outermost width puts more of a strain on the transmission. I can't really attest to that but since the manufacturer has those wider options in their design I wouldn't think it would be a real issue. If you don't have any reason to make some of the tight turns I do put your wheels out to the outermost position for that extra stability.

If the tractor has a fel, the rear tires should match the with of the bucket. Nice machine by the way. The b7500 is a fine tractor, i started out with one 12 years ago.
