WOW, I got an unbelievable gift today-
A 4 foot side discharge finish mower.
This is going to go behind my kubota L3400, so it is not the ideal width but MAN I could not say no!
Now as some of you know, this is my first tractor, and I am not quite to 100 hours yet.
With that said, this is also my first PTO mower.
I am going out of the country for the next few days so I won't be able to enjoy the new addition.
I did not get to look at it at length today but:
It has 4 solid tires, and one tire rod connection was broken or a nut was off.
And the model number and make is not a detail that I caught.
Outside of the small mechanical, what else should I consider before hooking it up and running around the house?
The mower has been garage kept for the last 3 years and used only once during that time. It was connected to a Ford 1100 tractor for it's last run.
I plan on greasing it, and checking the belt(s).
The gear box turned easily by hand according to my friend.
thanks for all the advice!
Later,
Jim
