My dad came across a 20 ton Lickety Split log splitter on Craigslist for $675 and jumped on it. He was thinking of reselling it but I'm going to take it instead. I just went to see it this morning and it looks like one **** of a machine! I'm not sure how old it is, but it's definitely got some years on it-it's been well taken care of though. It has an older Briggs 5 HP I/C engine on it, a Haldex 2 stage pump (not sure what GPM but it cycles reasonably quickly), and a spin-on hydraulic filter. The lines are all hard too with the exception of the return and one very short section of high pressure hose. It sits on a towable frame that the guy who had it before me jacked up so that you don't have to stoop as much when splitting. He also put a trailer jack on the end to stand it upright. I didn't have a camera handy otherwise I would have taken pictures-I'll post some soon. Its got almost a 27" stroke which is great since I have an add-on furnace that will take up to a 25" piece so I tend to cut long sections. It will do the the job for now but I'm sure that before long I'll end up putting a larger motor/pump on, etc...
Anybody have a link with more information about these splitters? I can't seem to find much on them.
