New to me Massey won't start

Ok so I bought this Massey off a friend of a friend. I got a good deal on it. So the issue is it won't run. It will start on starter fluid but it spit and sputters and backfires even on that. I rebuilt the carb it was full of junk so I cleaned it all up put it back on and still looks like it is not getting fuel. I am not sure of the model either the guy I bought it from thinks it is a 30 or 35 with an engine from a 65. Is there a way for me to tell what the engine is and the rest of the tractor. It has a ford loader on it a model 19-117 also know as the 68 standard. The tractor had been sitting for a year or longer. Any help would be great.

Wherther engine is origionally off a 30,35 or 65 is of little importance. To get the correct rebuild kit,the make and model of carb is of great importance. A metal identification tag is attacked to all carbs when they leave carb mfgr but shade trees often throw the tag away the first time carb is disassembled. As far as steps in rebuilding and/or adjustment of air and fuel,there's no difference in procedure.
There's many other things besides carb that can cause "spit and sputter". Just have to work through them one at a time in a process of elimination.

The carb is a marvel tsx 856 still had the tag on it.

There you go,use that #when ordering kit,and don't lose that tag. Ever original gasoline carb I've seen on 65s were TSX-695.

Thanks to Xfaxman I have found out the rear of the tractor is a model 65 and the engine is a Continental GF 193 which is from either a Massey 303 or 304. Any information on the engine would be great.
