- 2011 Mahindra 5035, 2013 JD X738
Thrilled to announce that my quest to find my wife an X738 came to a successful conclusion today. Been looking for the right deal for months and it was unloaded from an 18-wheeler with a lift gate today.
We have about 13 acres in Western NC with about 5 acres of it being mowable. I prefer to use my Mahindra 5035 with the 72" brush cutter but my wife insists on keeping it mowed to a "finish".
After wearing out an inadequate Craftsman mower I decided that she is serious and I may as well invest in a mower that will last and one that I won't have to repair every time uses it. Lots of searching led me to the X738. Since we only put about 50 - 60 hours a year on it, I was fine with a gas engine and also liked the lower price vs. the diesel.
Finally found the machine I wanted all the way up in Iowa at a large regional dealer. They worked with me on achieving what I think is a GREAT price on this 72 hour mower with the 54" HC deck and they handled the logistics of getting it shipped to my primary residence in FL. This is my first piece of green machinery and I am already impressed with the quality of workmanship.
Gotta get it polished up and then I'll post a couple pics.
