Like the thread title states: My ZD runs fine off the left tank but not the right. I can literally turn the engine on and off simply by switching from one tank to the other.

And I just filled both tanks! :banghead:

So, I *assume* that the intake for the right tank is clogged or stopped up. So it would be a matter of siphoning the tank mostly dry, then blowing out the lines from the valve - or is there an easier way or other failure mode I'm not thinking of?

Thanks,

Not sure, but i'd be looking for the gas line and disconnect it and see if anything comes out of it first. If so, follow it down stream towards the engine. If not, let it drain in a can. My last 2 machines had a valve inline, near the filter. Is it on?

Pete, the ZD uses two tanks on each side of the machine, that are tied together with a simple valve. One side for the right, the other for the left. The filter is downstream of that/ If I could turn the ZD figure into a pic that shows the fuel setup, I would, but I'm not that smart, at least not right now.

The problem is definitely on the right side. I *assume* it's with the right side tank inlet, but wanted to know if there are other options/failure modes that I've missed.

Thanks,

You can pull the hose that goes to the valve out of the tank, it's on the top. Just a rubber gourmet holds it in. Bet your find something in that line, perhaps on the end of the pickup. If nothing on the pickup, take it loose at the valve and blow it out.

I had similiar issue with left tank. Pulled the line from the top of the tank, big black ant stuck in the intake. Put it back ok for awhile, then it happen again, another big black ant. After that it was ok. Don't know if I was the one that allow those ants in there....but I doubt it. Think they got in there when the tank was dry at the factory or the dealer.

I have the ZD 331 and had a problem with the left tank. Took the tank off and found some dirt blocking the inlet to the fuel line. Blew it out and problem solved
