New to tractor painting: question #1-Can I spray clear coat over new decals?

1965 Ford 2000-3 cylinder

Sheet metal has been base coated with Tisco's Industrial enamel in Empire blue. Two coats with a HVLP gun. I have new decals for the rear hood and wonder if it is most advisable to place them on top of the clear coat like a bumper sticker on a car or to place them on the base coat and clear coat over the top of them. The decals are a vinyl material. How was this done at the factory?

I plan to spray the Majic brand clear coat after 1 week for the base coat to cure for what it is worth. Mineral spirits is the recommended thinner/solvent.

I doubt, that the factory used any clear coat. I believe, I read somewhere, that "a clear coat wouldn't be used on a shiny base coat, but only on a 'dull' base coat".

I would avoid majic paints

I wouldn't spray with clear underneath decals. But I am no good at paint. I would let the pros spray and add decals later. No reason to avoid majic but find some one to coach on the chemical process. I have spent a lot on paint and always regret it. I can have a buddy do it for free for better quality. He knows what he is doing and dosnt waste his time unlike me.
