Good morning gentlemen,

My name is George and I am a first time (read uninformed) user of tractors so please be kind :) Last Saturday I purchase a Yanman YM2000 for keeping up with my property chores. The tractor starts and runs fine but it didn't come with a manual, or a wiring diagram, and the wiring harness is in shambles. The lights are not connected, nor are the horn, temp indicator and gauge...There are a few pictures at George/Property - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting which depict what I am faced with. I'd like to rewire the tractor so does anyone have a wiring diagram (or an operator's manual) for this particular model and if so could you please post it/send it to me?

I will be purchasing a box blade for road work, and probably a bush hog and tiller eventually so, is 4ft equipment most appropriate or will 5s also work? I don’t want to stress the old engine so I’d like to buy what’s best.

Other than a thorough cleaning/degreasing I've not done much else to it so any words of advice for proper maintenance from you experts will be greatly appreciated.

All the best,
gcp

First thing you need to know is you have mismatched sheet metal, assuming your engine tag is correct. If your engine serial number is 2TR20something rather than 2TR20Asomething, you have an engine from the old series 2000, but your sheet metal is from a 2000A. Lots of part differences.

This is about as close as you will get. It's from a YM240, the US equivalent to the YM2000.

Thank you for your welcomes, and the valuable info guys, it's good to be among you.

Today I found that my YM2000 didn't have a fuel filter in series with the fuel line so I bought the whole assembly for installation over the weekend, as well as a new air filter, oil filter, oil, front light bulb, and hours of operation cable which was broken. So, I'll be busy making these maintenance installations this week and hope that'll be the end of the repairs for a while.

I also checked on the roll bar and the local dealer wanted $550 for it locally so I put that purchase off for a while. BTW, has anyone designed/fabricated a home system around here? There's got to be a less expensive way of going about this safety issue. I was thinking of maybe fabricating a steel box to be bolted up front, for extra weight, and also with welded roll bars going over the cabin and bolted to the back of the tractor to create a cage so to speak. I'll chew on that a while... The dealer wanted $40 for a operator's manual and it was a zeroxed copy to boot so, are there ay better deal that you know of online?

All the best,
gcp

There are lots of cheaper ways. Here's one of them. LINK

Read and re-read these words in the post I linked above--"The self-made rollbar was sturdy and did not break or bend". Think that's all it takes? There are valid reasons someone invested over $10k per style to have these ROPS engineered to OSHA standards. $550 is a very good price IF it is an OSHA approved ROPS. Ours is, and folds for building clearance, and we get $29 more than that.

George, Are you the guy I read about a couple of years back that was in Iraq, had several confirmed kills, could take an enemy out from more than a mile and is considered the best sniper in the Army and are you from Double Springs. If you are, we Winston County foks are proud of you and thanks for your service regardless. I was born and raised in Haleyville.

jab I am not the guy, there's a few gray hairs between he and my self :)

I read his story and it impressed so much that I scanned the article and kept it at my photobucket link.
