Being a man of limited means (MONEY!!!),I get the greatest enjoyment out of making things from stuff I've scrounged up.I also enjoy getting ideas from others. How'bout posting some pictures of things you folks have built from rescued parts and pieces?? Here's one for starters.
I built this tractor using a 20hp Kohler that I removed from a carpet cleaning machine we were tossing. The front end is from a fork lift that was on it's way to being chopped up and sent to China. So is the battery and the future hydraulics. The tranny is a high/low 3 speed Wheel Horse that I got from a fella for $60.Tires are 13" front with the centers cut out and flat stock welded in.The rears are 15"truck tires I had laying around.Steering box came from a rototiller drive.Steering wheel was found in a store we took over and the seat was about all that could be salvaged from a neighbor's barn fire. The gas tank is actually a pool chemical can.The rear blade is borrowed from one of my Gravelys.Bought the steel, bolts and RED paint.I call it a FARMNOUGHT because two acres does not a farm make!! Total cost...'bout $200
