I was browsing today and ran across this new 2x2 cnc plasma table that Torchmate has introduced. Read about it on the pirate4x4 board.
Here is the link to it on Torchmate's site:
2x2 CNC plasma cutter, portable CNC cutting system designed to sit on top of the material to be cut for easy cutting in the shop, garage, or in the field
Looks like it is geared towards the hobbyist market and has a pretty low entry price if you already own a plasma, maybe have some cad software etc.
Sounds like you could cut larger pieces by moving it around on the work, indexing it and starting the next set of cuts. Now if I could only justify one...
From their website:
$1,995 for the basic 3 axis system plus Torchmate Driver Software
(2 x-axis drives and motors and 1 y-axis drive and motor)
$235 for hand torch holder with manual 4th axis (Z) control (or make your own)
$770 for full routing/milling package including complete 4th axis (Z) and Bosch Colt 1HP Router
(3D Drawing Software sold separately)
