I found this at the local farm implement dealer: a lightly-used version of an idea which had yet to take full form in my mind. I have a timber winch which is very effective, but it loads its victims up with grit unless there's heavy snow cover. It's hard to make firewood out of sandy logs. And I want to cut up smaller branches throughout the woodlot where they fell. At times the only access is by mountain bike trail or skid road from the winch.
This dump box should enable me to get in close and escape with a small load of clean firewood, the product of a couple of minutes' cutting. A modest goal, to be sure, but a way to while away my time for the next decade or so when there's nothing more challenging going on.
Of course you never know what use a thing will find for itself when you bring it onto the property.
