Thanks everyone,
BMaverick - might get back to you when its time to do that job, if I cant work it out anyway.
I have bought a Yanmar RS1303 Rototiller, I have tried it once so far on a piece of heavy clay with the grass removed from the top. It tore through it like butter!
I was very impressed, I thought I may have to get a plough to break it up first but I am not so sure now.
I think I might be able to get a good depth with the tiller alone. Probably better if I plough it first but more work and more expense. If I am not happy after the first year or it becomes sodden I can always plough it next year and then till it again.
I am sure with all of the compost and horse manure that will get put into it it will be lovely soil before long.
Thanks.
