As of last friday I am the owner of a new R3644. Previously had a 3040, had Trans problems due to prior owner abuse( perhaps a bit of my own on top of it)
Anyway- nice tractor so far, Mounted my blower on it over the weekend and put about 8 hours on so far. Ergonomics are better than the old tractor, not enough weight to it though, 700 #'s lighter than the 3040- hope critical parts were not lightened up- still seems better than comparable brands available in my area- green and orange only. Problem is this, after reading for 2 years that Montana is going to improve the manuals, opened mine and lo and behold- same gibberish. I could understand this 12 years ago when I bought a Jinma, understood that I was compromising for the price of the tractor, did not mind too much when I bought the 3040, that was an overbuilt tractor, got it for a decent price used with 2 years of warranty left, but now- a new tractor that is not discounted from the Kubs and JD's anymore, pay a premium price and expect a premium product. If it were not for our local dealer and the respect I have for him, I do not know if I would have bought another montana. When is someone at montana going to realize that the consumer does not want to pay for half a..... manuals. Irritating to say the least. thanks for letting me vent.
