Looking at Mahindra 2555hst with fel, backhoe w hydraulic thumb, grapple, box blade, scraper 6ft bush hog and Kubota M488 or 5800?.
Confusing options, extra remote,3rd,funntion,extra spool valve etc. Lots of tree work, dirt, excavating for new pole barn and outbuilding shed. Will also be pulling 1-2 td dirt scoop.
What function options are necessary or highly desired. What are the use of some of these???

I think the Mahindra 5555 is sturdier than the 2555, but no HST option, because of the extra weight. If you are set on a HST, I don't think you can go wrong with either of the models you mentioned. I have had 2 Kubota tractors and now have a Mahindra and have been happy with both manufacturers as far as quality of the machines. So I guess I would go with whichever model feels more comfortable to you in the seat and not stress out about not making the best pick for your purchase because both either should be a good machine.. I would recommend you evaluate how much the cost of the backhoe is vs simply renting for the projects you have in mind to see if it makes sense for you. Unless you are using it professionally, many people come out ahead financially by either renting the equipment or contracting out backhoe work. Considering you have tree and brush cleanup work, I would get the 3rd function valve installed new-that way you can get a grapple for these tasks. Good luck in your decision.

My dealer sells New Holland, Kubota, and Mahindra. All 3 are very good manufacturers and have excellent parts and support. My dealer likes the Mahindra line. Quality machines. I just purchased a Workmaster 50 from them. I think that they probably move more Kubotas than New Holland or Mahindra. They stock more Kubotas but a lot of sales are dependent on the manufacturer's incentives with financing and promotions. He has moved quite a few Workmasters the last few months. I personally like the 5555 over the other model but that is just MHO.

Did you not take delivery of your Kioti NX4510 TLB in July 2016?

jeff, well, I see in his signature he shows the NX4510. I was kind of hoping to hear how the decision was made and how it's working out. Ugh, I'm now waffling back toward contemplating DPF, so Kioti is again back on my possibles list. I know that I've struggled with decisions before, but this one seems to really be kicking my behind.
