New trailer brakes what size to bie

I have a car dolly I pull behind my R V. It dose not have trailer brakes at this time. It has 13" tires on it with a five lug nut hub and a 2150 lbs. capacity. I have looked on line and I have know idea what size to get. How ever that plate is not Square to the ground in other words the pion of the square plat is pointing to the ground. Is the orientation of this plate going to be a problem?

No, the orientation of the plate will not cause any problems. Just orient the assembly so it is as horizontal as possible. As for that axle rating it must be custom made. I am guessing you are going to run into problems fitting the brakes in 13" wheels. You really need to take apart one of the bearing assemblies and mic all the surfaces and make notes then see what is out there that fits. My guess is it uses a 3,500# spindle which means you will most likely have to upgrade to 14" wheels and tire and move the fenders up and out.

In the end you may be better off to sell this dolly and just get a new one. You are looking at about $250 for brakes, seals, bearings, battery, wiring, plug, brake away kit then another $250 for new wheels and tires. As you can see this is getting expensive.

Maybe a call to the manufacture will answer a lot of these questions.
