Hello All,
Please let me introduce myself to this great forum, my name is Todd I live in the Allentown PA area. I have about 1.5 acre lot in a nice subdivision. The house was built in 2001. For the last three years I have been working on my "Dream Garage", a detached 40x36 2x6 construction building with 12' ceilings, about 800 sq/ft upstairs with 2 10' dormers.

My neighbor and good friend has a couple year old BX23 machine, which in exchange for them letting my use I have performed all of the scheduled maintenance (used to be a BMW mechanic). Anyhow, I think I have but more hours on their machine than I have, and decided to buy my own.

This 7500 is a real gem, garage kept and very low hours. Unfortunatley I did not get a Operators manual with it, but I will be buying one this week from the dealer. I will also be picking up the Kubota 3pt weight box.

Until I get the manual, can anyone tell me how to check the oil? Embaressingly I should be able to figure it out, but I don't see anything (dipstick or sight glass). I see the hydro dipstick below the seat.

I have another question, when moving I hear a slight creak/click in the rear. It appears to be coming from the wheel center bore where it slides onto the axle. There are pins to key the wheel to the axle (a few positions to set the width) and then there is a bolt and nut that appears to anchor the wheel to the axle. I tightened these and the creak is less, but still there. Any suggestions?

Also, any input on this LA282, even though it has two dump cylinders versus the BX23 center single one, I don't think it's any stronger then the BX loader.

Great forum, look forward to all the reading and hope to contribute as I learn and start doing things with my machine.

On my (much older) B1550 thats it. Thats the only dipstick. (Except the engine).Theres a free parts manual for a 7510HST in the kubotabooks link below. Not exactly the same as yours but it may help. I see theres an 'oil guage' on the page thats numbered '60' at the bottom. (Page 128 of the pdf).

Give it a minute to load then click on the 'tractors' file.

tcrossley - The engine oil dip stick is on the left side (looking forward) of the engine. The engine side cover has fixed clips at the top at the front and back. I pull one top corner out, at a time. Mine takes quite a bit of pull. Be careful, when the clip disengages, the grille guard is waiting to punish your hands and arms, or the side cover. The trick is to brace yourself so you only generate about one inch of movement without going any further. The bottom of the side cover sides forward off a fixed pin at the back and up out of a slot at the front tab. The dip stick is behind and below the alternator. Be carefull with the top two tabs!

tcrossley - Sorry, I did not mention that you need to open the hood before you remove the engine side cover. Also, very nice looking home and property. :) Welcome to TBN!

FYI, my 2003 B7500 HSD-R came with a LA302 FEL. The FEL Operator's Manual has specifications for the LA272, LA302, LA352 & LA402, but no mention of a LA282.

rusty,
thank you for the information. regarding the loader, my mistake it is a LA272. i used it last night to spread some mulch & top soil, actually the breakout force is not bad, but the lift seems very weak (compared to the BX23 which is the only thing I have to compare to).

I don't have any specs for the loader(s) on the BX-series, but if you would like the specs for the LA272, let me know. There is a chart with 10 different capacities ranging from 495# at maximum height to 1,410# for breakout force at pivot pin. Also a chart for maximum lift heights, clearances, etc.
