T1560
In the market for a new rider. Bought my last one in 1998! Kubota T1560, traditional rider. Looking at a ZTR now, so many options!! Impressed with the Z122 Kutoa, but concerned about a couple things.

Engine. Stumbled on a thread on this site questioning the durability/quality of the B&S engine on it? Kubota has 3yr warranty, but I am the sort that if something will fail it is at 3yrs 1 day...

Bagger. My current Kubota has an assisted double bagger. This back then was due to the 44" deck. With our heavy grass here, even the assisted bagger chute gets clogged often enough. The new baggers are not power assist and with a 48" deck I just don;t see how I would be able to use it most of the year?

I also drove/rode a Husquavarna ztr, similar HP and Deck size. The ride and operational difference was remarkable. The Kubota for $400 more seemed like 2x the machine!?

How large an area are you mowing? How often? what is the terrain like?

1 acre, mostly grass, some trees/obstacles, no real inclines. It is "lumpy" though which worries me as I have heard the ZTR's can be rough riding. Our current mower is a T1560 which has rear suspension that I think soaks up more than we realize.

Spring summer, it is mowed once a week and it will grow well over an inch in that timeframe.

Sorry, I'm surprised you didn't get more replies here. There is a big difference in quality and price, between homeowner and commercial models. your yard isn't that big so a homeowner model may suffice. As for the bumps, Ferris makes Zturn mowers with suspension that I hear is a great help. There may be other brands available now that offer it too. I have a Country Clipper residential/homeowner model. I mow a couple of acres+ with many trees, and some inclines. it is a bumpy ride, and I go much slower than the mower can for comfort. Many dealers will let you test drive, and I think that's a great idea. Good luck.
