Got this toy on an auction the other day. just picked it up today. great build perfect size for my tractor being 8x5. great turning radius:thumbsup: Just one thing, it is sitting in the middle of my lawn right now as the anyoing will not back up , it has the pivit point at the back of the tractor and also on the front axle.:mur:

It is just a standard wagon. They take a lot of practice to back up with a truck or tractor. It is one of the more difficult tasks most people have in haying (well those who still use wagons). Backing them up takes practice and patience. The easiest way I can tell my helpers is to turn the vehicle hooked to the wagon the direction you want the wagon to go then keep adjusting. Good luck

Robert is totally right! We were always told to put one hand at the 6 oclock position on the steering wheel and as you turn the wheel that hand will be going in the direction you want the trailer to turn. Problem is the tight turning radius on these type of wagons. So practice practice practice.

I was always impressed by how well my Dad could back a hay wagon with a 'steering' front end into our hay barn- up a small hill, around a slight corner and through a doorway about 1' wider than the load on each side! With alot of practice over the years (and a couple of near misses) I was able to master the technique too! Keep at it because once you have the skill it makes backing a 'fixed' front end implement into any space seem like child's play ...

I have decided to swing my seat around today and spend a few hours practicing. Might be easier to push than having to bend around and push. thank goodness for the reversable seat on the Antonio Carraro. The Kids are of course extreemly happy for all the wagon rides.

After you have practiced enough to get comfortable with backing up, be sure to find another wagon just like this one and hook them together and try backing up both! Even more fun if stacked high with hay bales so you can't see the rear trailer.

I never did get very good at that.....makes backing up one seem pretty tame!!!

Good luck with the new wagon. Reminds me that I've got an old one that needs a new bed so I can use again.

You can always use the old trick of restraint chains
to limit the pivoting axles swing which always works.

A front hitch on the tractor works really well and
does wonders if you can mount a draw bar or weld on
a mount for a hitch.

Like GGB said. Get another wagon and add to the fun. I have a good friend that can back two of them into the barn. He's more talented then I am.

Switched aroound the seat today to face the front and hooked the wagon to that end also. Thus I now have the steering wheels very close to the piviot point. World of difference. Still not an expert, but not a pain in the posterior region anymore. This one day has justified having a reversable seat tractor.
As for the guy that can do this in tandem.. Bravo:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Many years ago, I worked at a large distribution center. We backed tandems (wiggle wagons) frequently, although I never got really good at it. We had one driver that could back three better than I could do a tandem.
