New water proof clutch on HPX gator ?

What is the advantage of the enclosed clutch ? obviously to keep water/mud out but when is it that you really would be in need of this ? I drive my 2003 6X4 Diesel through a small creek without any problems although i did have the clutch replaced one but i think that was defective from the start (it always made a lot of grinding when put into gear). I think it might be possible to drive the new HPX gator up the creek and plan on trying it but would i need this ? thanks /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif also any more thoughts on the improvments over the 6x4 ?

I put the cover on my HPX. The kit enclosed the belt and moved the air intake for the clutch up by the bed. When I hunt I run into water and some mud so I did not want a wet belt in the middle of no where. Sometimes water is higher at different times of the year so it can be handy. All it takes is a little water to really make a mess of things.

Oh I didn't realize it also came with a belt cover also that would be quite a nice thing to have. the only problems is I dont think its available on the diesel one but on both of the gas HPX gators thats kind of a bummer...

A friend of mine has a diesel and the dealer put one on for him. I would check again. I am sure you can get one. Go to John Deere parts online and do some looking.
