Found a used Puma 60 inch today for 1500. Says it is about 8 years old and in good shape. I will probably go look at it. For 2100 I can have a new Woodmaxx and add the electronic controls for an additional 350.Tough decision. Any thoughts?

I received my Woodmaxx last fall. A heavy built unit. No issues so far. Just added the electric controls. That should be a nice upgrade.

How do you like it. Does it blow the snow well? Look like a quality product? From the pics it looks like the paddles are on a one piece drum? Wonder how that is different than the other style. I am thinking for 600 more than a used one I can have new. Anything you don't like?

Advertises 30 feet range. That is good enough to get it away from your drive and keep it open, Not sure the difference in construction. This one is pretty easy to work on, adjust chain, change shear bolt. The manual rotator handle is a pain. I think the electric will take care of that issue. So far no other complaints.

They sure look nice in the pics. Sometimes new just makes more sense but not always. Wish there was one here close by to look at. I am about 250 miles from the dealer here in NY. I am limited on power also but need 60 wide to cover my tracks. I can always go slow.

I have the Puma 64 and it throws snow like no one's business. We have had a number of big storms last few seasons and it performed flawlessly. You may be able to get them down a bit from the 1500. Worth checking it out; they are well constructed and solid units made by the good folks up in the North Country.

I have the 6'. With 38 HP and HST there has been no issue with power. WE get 120" of snow on average. Last couple of winters even more.

I have a 24 hp tractor with only 17 pto hp but going slow should handle it. Hate to buy used when I can have new for almost the same so long as I am not giving up quality.

I talked to the gentleman for a while today and he told me that he had many appts. to see it. He says it is maybe 8 years old but he purchased it used. I am thinking that means 10-12 years old? He said he would not budge from the 1500 so I wished him a good day and moved on.

Best not to get into a bidding war on anything, used or new. Understand completely.
