Backhoe New Woods backhoe

I'm in search of a woods backhoe. I have a B7800. Now which one should I get BH70-x or the BH80-X either way It's coming with a thumb. I'm in Mass where is the cheast I can find them too.

From what ive hear the weight difference is only 100lbs differnt between the 70 x and 80x. I have the 80x on my Ck30 and its a very nice unit.. Personally i want as much digging debth as possible so id recommend the 80x. I paid 6750 in June of 06 with the thumb and subframe at Rodicks Farm Machinery in Schroon Lake NY... Good luck

That was intstalled minus the tax.. My dealer is 80miles away as well.. I watched the tech put it on.. It seemed fairly easy, he also added a rear remote. The backhoe is a joy to use. Youll be amazed what it will pick up with the thumb as well.. I posted a few pics awile back of my thumb in use after a 60' limb fell in my pond, i picked the tree out of a ravine and held it up with the thumb and chopped it into firewood.. The combo works real well, you can chop up a loader full of 16" logs go drop them off at your wood pile and go back for more.. Ive probably dug up around 20 stumps so far and transplanted several 14' pine trees as well.. Ive really enjoyed the seat time and have a whole bunch of projects lined up for spring... Are you sure a B7800 can handle a BH-80X? That seems like an awful lot of backhoe for a tractor that size/weight.

Based on my experience, a b/h the size of the BH80-X is too much hoe
for the B-series tractors. The low weight of the B7800 will limit your
productivity when the hoe drags it all around. Go for the 70-X or the
GB6500.

The Woods Groundbreaker X hoes have fixed or hyd thumb option.
I have seen the fixed, but not the hyd. The latter is a very expensive
option.

hydraulic thumb option is $2300 option. I am having mine installed right now. I should have it early next week.

Pls post a photo of the foot-operated valve. That price tag is why
the hyd option is rare. That's about $1700-1800 over the cost of the
fixed thumb.

Yeah that is expensive. It is $2150 over what my Moving Mechanical cost me.
But, I sure wouldn't mind having one on a larger hoe.

I am suppose to pick it up on Wednesday. I'll try to have my camera with me to take a few pics. It was expensive but I do alot of work with my equipment and the thumb will be very useful to me. So for me it was worth it. Plus most of the time I am out there by myself and if it helps me work safer/smarter then it is definitely money well spent.

I got a price the other day on a BH70 x woods with a thumb installed with front weights for $6900
