I moved last September and the new house came with a bonus basement. It was dry-walled but had no power except for the lights and the
walls were just taped with one coat of mud.
This is a pic of one end that I took during a walk thru, I thought this would be a great spot for a work shop.

I put in a 60 Amp sub-panel and wired it for my bench tools then I finished it and painted it grey (Walmart returned paint - 8$ per gallon!)
and then did the same to the floor with concrete paint. I blended two different returned colors and by luck it matched the floor paint almost
exactly!

Then I built the benches you see below; the top benches are 24" deep, the bottom shelves are 14". The shelves provide a good spot for tools while
giving me knee access and visibility to the back wall. I used vertical 2x4s to support a "porch roof" that hangs over the main bench
and supports a T-8 light fixture. I painted the top with a different color of returned paint along with two coats of primer.

It was a fun project for me, I took my time, used a lot of tools handed down by my FIL, Dad and Stepdad so it was like they were helping.
I installed a drawer which kicked my butt for a while. Here is the end result.
