"Nice looking machine. I'd say that you got an excellent deal at that price."

Thanks Roger. It's got 965 hours on it now. I put on the last 10. I am very pleased with it and love working with that loader.

I spent a number of hours on it yesterday rebuilding an old shrub bed and tilling up ground for a couple of new beds. The biggest reward was when the wife said wow hun you worked hard and got a lot done today and I just smiled!

Hello gerlacr2002,

I've seen a few 1500D's on the net that were painted JD green and yellow and they look sharp. I've always been a fan of JD. My son gets a new JD tractor from the TSC every year from Santa. Next Christmas Santa might just have to bring a Red one!

Good luck with your loader project. Post some pictures when can. I've been looking at those cadplans backhoe projects and would love to have one but the last time I welded anything was 20 years ago in high school. My welding wasn't that great to begin with and I'm certainly not confident enough to try a project that big. Maybe one day I'll run across a good used 3 pt backhoe that won't break the bank.

Rob

Take a welding class at an adult ed or Junior College. It is an excellent way to bring your welding skills up to par. Then you will be prepared to take on the loader project.
