I'm looking for a compact tractor for general use on 7 acres. I need the tractor to clear bushes etc for fire protection and also to do all landscaping. I've looked at Kubota L2800 and Bocat CT230/235. These are the brands that are local for future warranty/maintenance. I will also be using on my Dad's property (7 acres also) for same thing. Is this the right size to be looking at? For attachments I was thinking loader, box scraper, rotary cutter, and maybe an auger. Any advantages of 1 over the other etc? I know nothing about tractors & don't want to buy to small or to big.

the L2800 is a real good tractor.an it would work for you with a 5ft shredder.an it would do the other things you want as well.but you might want to look at the L3200 as it might suit your needs as well.

Like bigbull, I would opt for the L3200, but be sure to have the dealer put an implement on the 3PH and have him raise it slow to see if the hitch is jerky as it is on some of this model.

I am sure the L2800 would be fine, I just like to go a little bigger than I think I will need unless I am absolutely sure.

All I know about Kioti tractors is that they are orange; nothing about model numbers. They are, however, good tractors worth serious consideration and either will serve you well.

Good luck.

Should I be looking at 30-35 hp models? Any input on the Bobcat?

30-35 HP should work fine.
Check out the Bobcat tractor section. Lots of information there from Bobcat tractor owners.

Sounds about right and since a Bobcat is a Kioti it should be fine.

I would look at all brands.

I am sure the L2800 would be fine.It has a 3 cylinder Kubota Diesel Engine that produces 28 horsepower. This tractor has optional two wheel drive and four wheel drive models that weigh up to 2600 pounds. The L2800 tractor has a category 1 three point hitch and its pto is rated 24 hp.
