Hi there all - thought I stick my head up. I picked up an old Honda F600 7 years ago and after a quick look at and costing a replacement engine it went on the back burner. About a month ago I was rearranging the junk under the house and decided to take another look at it. After brushing off the spiders and cob webs, digging the mud wasp nests out every hole you could think of, gave it a pressure clean and de-grease it didn't look half bad. Carburetor was broken with bits missing and the muffler was so rusty it fell apart. It had compression and when the head was off all the bits that were supposed to go up and down did. Had a mechanic friend look at it and he confirmed that with everything put together the way it should it will probably run. At some point the original G200 engine was replaced with a G65 of the same period. Main bug bear is the parts for the carburetor are no longer available so a Chinese replacement of similar capacity is on its way. Therein is another problem - the inlet mounting studs are on a 49* angle to horizontal - all new ones are either horizontal or what looks like about 30*. To overcome this I am making up an adapter manifold but have to wait until the new one arrives to get the holes and shape right. I also am making up a front attachment bracket as the original is missing. Lucky the Shop Manual I found has engineering drawings.
