POWER-TRAC PT 430
NEW HERE, STILL FEELING MY WAY AROUND. I HAVE LITTLE INFO. I HAVE A PT430 SS#104 (YES, IT'S OLD). I PAID $300 FOR IT ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO. NO TIRES, STEERING WHEEL, AND BAD FUEL TANK. I CHANGED TANK, PUT WHEELS FROM A CAMERO (ADDED ANOTHER SET OF HOLES TO THE HUBS).ROBBED A STEERING WHEEL FROM A MOWER. ONE HOUR AND $40 DOLLARS LATER I HAD THE 4CYL DIESLE KABOTA UP AND RUNNING. THE WHOLE TIME I HAVE HAD I HAVE INVESTED ABOUT $500 INTO IT. JUST FOUND THE POWER TRAC WEBSITE. TALKED TO TERRY AND HE SAID THEY HAVE NO INFO ON IT . THAT IT SHOULD BE AN EARLY 90'S MODEL. AND THAT IT IS A DISCONTINUED MODEL. IF THERE IS ANYBODY THAT MIGHT HAVE ANY INFO ON IT I WOULD GREATLY APPRICATE IT. I AM WORKING BLIND AND IT IS NEEDING SOME ATTENTION.

Welcome to the forum Cavee, I don't have one of the old ones but some of these guys on here have a great knowledge on these things. I am sure someone has at least some info they can give you. For some reason and I think it is the weather this site has not been to busy. I think they are all out getting some seat time on their PTs. I hope you find what you are looking for. Good luck.

If you have specific questions you should post them. It would also be helpful if you posted pictures of the machine.

Wow! That is a beast. Welcome to TBN. :)

May I suggest you turn your caps lock off to make for easier reading for the rest of us?

That thing looks really brutally simple and very cool. I see a master cylinder and what looks like disc brakes on the front. I wonder why new PTs don't have those.

master cylinder was ooc when i got it (the kids call it "it" wife has a few names she uses) mc still ooc.disc brakes were 2 aluminum disc to a steel plate 2 disc were removed.i found out what it would do when i was asked to clean up a steel yard 10''-12'' x 15'-20' beams and tubing about 12-15 loads she saved my back bent 2 set of forks on the job,did find a few things it would not move or lift.

Current model PT's have a three port valve that controls the flow from the aux pump--lift, tilt, and an aux circuit that is used for the mini hoe and some other attachments with a cylinder. Newer PT's also have a second pump for a PTO. Apparently your PT only has one pump with a two port valve--to control lift and tilt. So--depending on the valve you have you may be able to tap into it for a third circuit controlled by a valve or you may have to replace the valve with a three port valve.

PT told me the same thing about my PT-1445, no records, no hyd schematics, no nothing. However they have a parts manual that they can sell you parts.

Th PT 1445 that I have is probably as old or older, earlier 90's. It has a Ford industrial 4 cyl gas engine, with radiator and three pumps. The engine produces about 45 HP.

Try and draw out the hyd lines, and connections. Determine if the steering has priority.
Are your wheel motors in parallel or series? Do you know the name or model number of your pump.

You say you know where to tap into a hyd block for hyd flow. You have to be careful about how you do this, as you might disrupt steering/wheel drive, etc. Any idea what the operating pressure is?

If you have a two spool valve now, you can replace it with a three spool, and if it has PB, then you could have 5 spools, for whatever.
